China’s Xiaomi Launches Official Website In India

Hugo Barra, vice president of Xiaomi, one of the many upstart Chinese smartphone makers, published a message on Google+, which said that the company gained new expansion progress in India and their Indian official website has been formally launched. This marks Xiaomi’s new action to realize its strategy to enter ten overseas markets outside of China.

Forrester: Customer Obsession Gains Urgency Among CIOs in Asia Pacific, But Less Than Half Are Taking Action

More than 70 percent of technology budget decision-makers in Asia Pacific indicated that improving customer satisfaction will be a high or critical priority in 2014, according to a new report by Forrester Research, Inc. (Nasdaq: FORR). However, less than 50 percent of technology leaders are taking action to address the customers. Forrester’s latest survey data indicates that customer-centric technology initiatives are far down on tech leaders’ priority lists.

This Is Volantis, HTC’s Nine-Inch Nexus Tablet

With Android Silver rumors brewing, and LG’s Ken Hong indicating that the manufacturer doesn’t have a Nexus phone in the cards, the fate of the Nexus line as a whole has been sort of up in the air. We don’t have news about whether a Nexus phone exists, but we do have information related to HTC’s Volantis (or Flounder), an 8.9″ Nexus tablet. Domain-name trade continues despite lack of legal framework

Domain names are traded in Vietnam, even though there is no legal framework for the business. The involved parties go ahead with sales because they say they cannot wait for the legal framework to be completed for transfer deals. The Ministry of Information and Communication in 2008 released a circular on the management and use of internet resources, which lifted the ban on domain name trade and transfer. However, the circular was not enough to pave the way for this kind of business.

MoFirst plans smartphones in all regional languages by March 2015

NEW DELHI: Indian technology start-up MoFirst has plans to launch regional-language based smartphones, whose patent technology allow users to change languages with just a swipe, across India by March 2015. “Language is one of biggest barriers thats prevents people from using mobile phone functions exhaustively. We have launched and tested response to smartphones that supports Gujarati language. By March 2015, we will launch phones for all regional languages,” MoFirst Solutions Co-founde ..

Asus’ smartphone ZenFone to hit Indian market next month

NEW DELHI: Taiwanese tech major Asus is set to expand presence in the country with introduction of its range of ‘ZenFone’ smartphones next month, which will take head on devices from the stables of Samsung, Microsoft Devices and Motorola as well as domestic firms like Micromax. Asus, known globally for its mother boards, will launch its ZenFone range of smartphones in India next month in the mid and premium range, sources said.

Quanta may become key assembler of Apple’s new iWatch: Morgan Stanley

TAIPEI — Taiwan-based Quanta Computer Inc., an Apple Inc. supplier for MacBook laptop lines, could become the main assembler of Apple’s rumored wearable device, the “iWatch,” according to U.S. brokerage Morgan Stanley. The iWatch, which is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year, is expected to contribute more than 10 percent of Quanta’s sales in the October-December period on shipments of 10 million units, Morgan Stanley said.
